1972: Double Take

Five images from a rather small but very entertaining (and out of print) book called Double Take which chronicles some of the visual puns and surrealist photos of Bill Binzen (1918-2010).

Asbury Park 1940s: Wesley Lake & Casino

A recent eBay find: An 1940s image of the Asbury Park Casino and power plant tower in the far distance.  Wesley Lake is in the foreground and the side of the long-gone Mayfair Theatre is visible in the middle distance.  Squint after clicking the image and you will see the ferris wheel of Palace Amusements just over the Mayfair's shoulder.  I've never walked the entire length of Wesley Lake back toward the inland side but perhaps I should sometime so I can take some comparison shots.

Shining.

Today was one of those days that blewww past. As soon as we opened the shop it already felt like it was time to close. Sometimes 24 hours isn't enough time don't you think?

Our BOY Jason and his Son LIL' Gucci came through the shop, what makes this photo interesting is that he's rocking more than $300.00 in clothing. Ranging from Supreme, Bape to J's.

Lil Gucci definitely Shining on us( with an ice grill-to match) we needa step our clothing game up. SMH

But what was most interesting about today were the friends and customers that came to the shop. Here's why...

The homie BEN came through the shop and showed us his newest tattoo, and this is bringing love for MJ to a whole other level.

And to match BEN's MJ tat... he has every Nike Jordan shoe tatted on him, can you see it?

More shining, Tiffany Dunk SB's simply the most HYPED Dunk of all time. Nice colors matched with different textures...We had 15 pairs at one point ranging from Deadstock to used. Unfortunately we are all SOLD out.

Who would of known these dunks sell better than Supreme Dunk Hi's?

JFK to RIF.

Wednesdays are ALWAYS our favorite days here at RIF. Although its busy as usual, the madness from the weekend and early week comes to a slow halt towards the end of the evening...

Unfortunately the chaos starts ALL over again on Thursday when we start carefully packing your orders, receiving consignment and packing shipments to Japan. :)

Again if we didn't love our Jobs we wouldn't be here. We do this all for the love.

Our boys "The BMW Bros" came through the Shop, seems as if they changed their status from rolling the streets of LA in BM's to Audi's. You tell me if they upgraded?

NACHO and RYAN from LAX TO JFK came through the shop and chop it up about business and their latest shop collaborations and plans. If you haven't been to their shop in the SOUTH BAY then you are definately sleeping. Not your EVERYDAY skate shop!
