Odds & Ends, Bigs & Smalls

Odds and ends of all sizes that were given to me by my friends Pete and Mike (from Mike's family home) with a cool-as-hell Dr. Pepper bottle that was found in a flea market and given to me by my friends Noreen and Jimmy).  It's great to have good friends who are always on the lookout for amazing things to add to my collection of vintage items (as well as my stash of source material for assemblage / collage pieces).

Aunt Nellie's Liquid Starch

Label from a plastic bottle from the 1960s.  

After forty-odd years under the seal of a metal cap, the product's viscosity had, uh... changed.  

Let's just say this bottle's pearly blue contents were a lumpy, gelatinous mess.

NOTE: Said mess was left to congeal in open air (atop a pile of rocks in the flea market parking lot).

Something Found, Something Shared...

FOUND:  A set of four old Koh-I-Noor acetate ink jars (whose contents have lost almost all viscosity).

SHARED:  A box of old (and much loved) Jon Gnagy pastels that were given to me as a gift by a special friend.
