1962: Crownings, Communions, Christenings, Etc.

Oftentimes, May Crownings and First Communions were held on the same day at Saint Joseph Hill Academy.  I discovered this when scouring image after image of this hybrid event in carousel after carousel of slides that stretched across many years.  By the time I attended the school, First Communion was a weekend event on its own and the May Crowning was relegated to the afternoon of a school day.

Here we see my grandparents with my mother, my infant Aunt Susan, my Uncle Kevin and my Aunt Karen on the day of Susan's Christening. Cousins Dianne, Ricky and Lois are pictured with Susan below.

And then, of course, we have an AWESOME motherlode of Christmas toys...

Sneaker Heads Dream Cake

You ever sit and wonder what kind of cake you would have for your wedding or birthday? Actually, I'm pretty sure most people don't do that, but I came across this beautiful cake that would be perfect for any sneaker head. Peep what shoe it is after the jump!

Chocolate Nutella Hazelnut Cake ...

layers, layers, and layers of cake...

can you already guess what shoe this is?

If you can't figure it out by now then you shouldn't be a shoehead lol..

The details on the cake is just beautiful, from the laces to the patent leather, from the soles to the upper mesh.

Check out the finished product, too bad its not suppose to be an orange Nike box, maybe its a B grade? sike...

details, details, details ....

If your interested in having 1 of these cakes made, head to Carved Cakes in Long Beach. I'll tell you now, this cake below is probably as much as a pair of deadstock concord xis ...eeek! By the way, my birthday is on April 5th :)
