Odds & Ends, Bigs & Smalls

Odds and ends of all sizes that were given to me by my friends Pete and Mike (from Mike's family home) with a cool-as-hell Dr. Pepper bottle that was found in a flea market and given to me by my friends Noreen and Jimmy).  It's great to have good friends who are always on the lookout for amazing things to add to my collection of vintage items (as well as my stash of source material for assemblage / collage pieces).

Archive: "Barrel Robot" (1996)

CHRISTIAN MONTONE
"Barrel Robot" (1996)
Approx. size: 11 x 20 inches.  Acrylic on cardboard box and board.

From what I recall, the 1960s Maxwell House box came from either the basement workshop in my
Staten Island grandparents' house or the (many years defunct) bar in my Pennsylvania grandparents' house.

One More Holiday Treasure

Yet another gorgeous vintage surprise from my friends Noreen and Jimmy.
This spectacularly colorful box will be collage/assemblage material (for at least one personal piece and another series piece for sale) and the bulbs that are still viable will go to both Noreen and my pal Steve for their vintage trees.  I haven't tested any of the bulbs yet, but oftentimes some oldies still work.

Perfecto: Phillies Red Box

I don't exactly recall when, but I do remember getting this beautifully worn Phillies Cigar box for free when I purchased whatever stash of small contents was contained inside.  I'm sure these treasures have long since been built into assemblages, but the box alone is a treasure in and of itself.
